An association calles Les francas is looking for partners for a youth leaders exchange project, called Popula Regatta.


What ?
« Popula Regatta » (in latin) means « Popular regata ». Britanny and in particular the region of Finistère, is a department with a strong cultural identity. The Finistère is a land of legends and arts. This department bears the stamp of its natural environment thus owns a rich maritim heritage. During ten days, we would like to gather around fifty animators from all over Europe and involved in non formal educative actions. This European project puts forward active participation, the exchange of animation tools, the creation of intercultural projects and the discovery of popular and European citizen commitment. This project encourages all non formal educative actors to get involve in a new and good educational ecosystem. The continuity and complementarity of educative actions being at the heart of the concerns of non formal educative organizations.


Who ?
The association of the Francas of Finistere invites European associations framing their actions in non formal education. We hope increasing educative action among all the territories together in partnership. With all associations present, we will define together the content and methodology of the activities before and throughout the stay. All the associations' delegations will include animators, non formal education actors between 17 and 30 years old. For now, two European associations are in the project : AWO (Germany) and Dreams for life (Romania). In order to create a good atmosphere, we would like to be maximum 50 animators so around 6 different associations and 8 animators per association.


When and where ?
The project will take place in Brest, at the Nautical Centre of Moulin Mer, from Saturday 20th to Monday 29th August 2016. All associations will arrive on 20th at Nantes airport. Everybody will sleep at the nautical centre of Moulin Mer, where all activities, workshops, debates, educational forums and reflexion and expression spaces will be organized. A place by the sea, where members could also discover nautical activities. The last two days of the exchange will be dedicated to activities that we organized. These will take place with children from all Brest organizations : the Foyer Laïque of Saint Marc, the Patronage Laïque Municipal of the Cavale Blanche, the Patronage Laïque of Recouvrance, the Patronage Laïque Le Gouill, the Patronage Laïque of the Bergot.

Our goals are to :


– Welcome young animators on the Breton territory
– Contribute to the global educative development and push forward educational frameworks
– Encourage citizen popular committment and mobilize the educative actors
– Renforce the knowledge of children's social and cultural educational needs
