The Portuguese Erasmus+ Education and Training National Agency (NA E&T), under the Adult Education sector (AE), is going to organize a transnational Cooperation event on the 6th and 7th of October 2016, in Lisbon. This event, under the title "The relevance of Adult Education and Erasmus+ Program", consists of a European Conference and a Contact Seminar Erasmus+ addressed to Portuguese and European people involved in Adult Education. The Contact Seminar is related to Key-Action 2 (KA2) – Strategic Partnerships, in the field of Adult Education (AE), and is aimed to Portuguese and European institutions with no experience in Erasmus+ projects.

Working language: English (EN)

Main objectives

The objectives for these two days are to promote and highlight the importance of adult education sector to European societies and to create Erasmus+ / AE projects with more quality and impact. This need to emphasize the Adult Education arises, among other reasons, from the under-representation of the sector in the Program, which reserves to its financing only 5% of the Erasmus+ 2014-2020 total budget.

6th of October 2016 – European Conference

On the first day, the European Conference will aim not only to bring together major players to present their opinions, practices and experiences, but also the opportunity to discuss priority issues, according to the European Commission, for this educational sector. The conference will include the participation of Portuguese and international Adult Education institutions, as well as representatives of national AE authorities, European coordinators of the European Agenda for Adult Education and representatives of other AN Erasmus+ Education and Training, all from different European countries. This event will count with a maximum of 100 participants, from those 30 should be nationals and 70 foreigners. Participants should check with their Erasmus+ National Agency if are eligible for a participation grant.

7rd of October 2016 – Contact Seminar

The second day, the contact seminar under the Key-action 2 (KA2) Adult Education, will have the goal to build partnerships for projects under KA2 on priority topics for AE (which were discussed on the previous day), to be presented in the next call for applications for the Erasmus+ program in 2017.   For this purpose, it will be presented the key‑action 2, the quality criteria and the application form (latest version available), and there will be conditions for networking. The participants, who will be part of the audience of the first day, will be selected by their own National Agency and will receive a participation grant to cover all expenditures.
